All formulas begin with an equal sign =
This tells Excel to compute what is in the cell. Otherwise it will just print the contents of the cell.
Add +
Click in the cell you want the answer to appear.
Type the formula =2+3
Press ENTER
The answer 5 is visible in the cell.
The formula appears on the Formula bar [above the column headings] when the cell is selected
Using numbers does work but does not allow us to automatically recalculate when numbers change. This is the number one reason we use
When creating formulas use cell addresses not the actual numbers. This is true for all
